Counting down

Good Morning Monday! I was hoping that Rett would have embraced the idea of waking up for his first true morning feeding at 7:30... but instead he appears to be digging the 6-6:30 timeframe. After dragging myself into his room, I will say that thankfully my body is getting adjusted to starting a little earlier than I would have liked. Being a huge fan of BabyWise with J a few years ago, I'm all about the sleep training. Mr. Rett is proving to be QUITE the different child than who I worked with last time. Go figure right?! Different child...different personality...DUH. I am totally fine with an earlier start...but how about we talk about that 2-3 hour chunks of sleep...Any chance of extending that by, oh I dunno... let's saaaaay...TONIGHT? 'Cause I would be a-okay with that decision! Thank GOODNESS things have continued to step away from this cry of desperation.

I will say that a Monday morning while on maternity leave is SO MUCH easier to swallow than a regular work Monday (which is looming in the very near future). Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE my job. I really do!! And having such a different schedule and pace to go back to makes it all the easier to get my butt out the door for.

BUT! I also love my slow-paced, almost-no-alarm-needed mornings here. Oh, how wonderful it would be if every morning started out as calm as today's...

What a blessing though to feel the ease that my brain is going through gearing up for work. It was amazing to have had The Husband home for an entire month once Little Guy joined us...then for 2 weeks of a part time schedule which allowed J to go back to "school" a few days a week...And THEN back to full time which added a day of school for J. Now with just two more weeks off of maternity leave, I have 3 full mornings each week while J is at school to cross things of my to-do list (some of which have been on there since BEFORE Rett made his early arrival) all the while hanging out with this crazy-bunch of cuteness...

So as for you Mr. Monday... today marks a new week complete with a re-written To-Do list, hot mugs of coffee, more Halloween fun, more potty-training attempts and saying Hello to the month of November! Time to get movin...
